CaaOcho Toys and Mold

Mold is a common type of fungus that thrives in moist conditions. Though is an important part of our ecosystem, it yet can be a nuisance and very dangerous to our health, let alone to the health of babies. Therefore, most of our toys do not have holes to prevent water from getting inside which otherwise would be close to impossible to get the water out completely and mold would inevitably grow inside.

We only use natural materials for our toys and never use mold resistant chemicals to make the toys as safe as possible for the little ones. We guarantee that our toys remain mold-free INSIDE the toys only as long as the hole cap remains properly sealed. We cannot guarantee that our toys remain mold-free on the OUTSIDE surface since the conditions the toys are kept and stored are different and it’s beyond our control.

Pictures below demonstrate bath toys with mold on the outer surface which happens when toys are not properly dried and left in moist conditions (bath toy bin/net/bag organizers, tub, etc.) but they appear to be perfectly mold-free from the inside.

To prolong the toys’ lifetime, please allow the toys to air dry after each use by placing them on a bathroom counter or take them to the nursery room to avoid mold growth on the surface.

By nature, natural rubber has porous surface and the mold is virtually impossible to get rid of once it starts to appear.
